Terms of Service
These terms cover the Byline website, the cohort, The Bindery membership and everything sold in the shop. Plain language, and it means what it says.

Template note. Replace this page with terms drafted for your own business before you launch. It is demo copy, not legal advice.
1. Who we are
Byline Studio LLC operates this website and everything sold on it. Our registered address is 1140 Folsom Street, San Francisco, CA 94103. Where these terms say “we” or “us”, that is who is meant.
By buying a product, joining a cohort or creating an account, you agree to what follows.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your password to yourself. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has access and we will lock it while you reset it.
One account is for one person. Studio plans cover five named people; sharing a single login across a team is the one thing that will get an account closed.
3. Purchases and payment
Prices are in US dollars and shown before you pay. Digital products are delivered immediately; cohort seats are confirmed by email within one working day.
Recurring plans renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel at any time from your account page, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for.
4. Refunds
Shop products: thirty days, no questions asked, and you do not need to delete the files. Cohort seats: a full refund through the end of week two, after which we will move your seat to a later cohort instead. Memberships: cancel any time; annual plans are refunded pro rata.
Refunds are returned to the original payment method within ten working days.
5. License to use what you buy
Everything sold in the shop comes with a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use the files for yourself and for your clients, on unlimited projects.
You may not redistribute the files, resell them, or include them in a product whose value is the files themselves. If you are unsure whether something is allowed, ask — the answer is usually yes.
6. Our content
Course material, newsletter issues, library documents and recordings remain ours. You may quote them with attribution. You may not republish them in full, feed them into a product, or use them to build a competing course.
8. Availability
We aim to keep everything online continuously, but we do not promise it. Scheduled maintenance is announced in advance; unscheduled downtime is fixed as fast as we can and does not entitle you to a refund unless it is prolonged.
9. Limitation of liability
Nothing we sell is professional, legal or financial advice. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are emailed to account holders at least fourteen days before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes go to the state and federal courts of San Francisco County.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms go to hello@byline.studio, or to the postal address at the top of this page.
